California Healthy Kids Survey |

During the month of February, children in BUSD’s 7th, 9th, and 11th grades along with all participating children at Liberty High School will be taking a Healthy Kids Survey. The survey results, at age appropriate levels, will provide information regarding such topics as school violence, after school safety, physical activity, nutrition, and alcohol, tobacco, or other drug use. This is a statewide survey which is administered every other year. Besides the information gathered about children in our own Solano County schools, we also receive some funding for our participation. Survey answers are completely anonymous. There will be no survey in the elementary schools this year. Children in the upper grades can take the survey unless their parents specifically disapprove it. Also, children who do take the survey will have the choice to not answer any or all of the questions, or discontinue taking the survey at any time. If any parent has any doubt and does NOT want their child to participate in the survey, please contact your school’s attendance office. There is a specific form to sign if you wish to withdraw your child from taking the survey. You can come in and sign it or it can be mailed/e-mailed to you. Benicia Unified School District is happy to announce the enrollment dates for Kindergarten 2012-13. The dates for enrollment are February 14th-March 9th. Enrollment is done at each school site and any questions can be directed to the individual sites. All students being enrolled must turn 5 by November 1, 2012. For information on your school of residency please click on the "schools" tab to the left and scroll down to "elementary school boundaries". Additional information on enrollment can be found at the right side of this website under the "Quick Links" title and then click on "Enrollment and K-8 Registration." Follow directions under "Enrollment".Also, Open Enrollment is February 14th - March 9th for students who live in Benicia and wish to attend a school out side of their area of residence for the 2012/13 school year. Fill out this form, print it out and bring it to any school site to apply for Open Enrollment.
