Friday, 29 October 2010
In these times of increased substance abuse among students, the Benicia Unified School District in cooperation with the Benicia Police Department will be holding monthly forums including a panel consisting of students, a school psychologist, a chemical dependancy and recovery specialist, a member of the investigations unit of the Benicia Police Department, a physician, and an additional expert pertaining to the topic. The forums will be in a panel setting at the Benicia Unified School District Board room at 350 East K Street, from 7-8:30 pm and will be played on channel 28 as well.

The purpose of these forums are to make available accurate information regarding drug use in a venue that encourages respectful communication, to influence youth to refrain from substance abuse, and to provide information from experts to model approaches in discussing choices with students.
