Benicia API Scores Continue to Rise |

The state released the results of California’s Academic Performance Index (API) for all 1,000 public school districts in California on Monday, Sept. 13th. Districts receive a ranking (0-1,000) based on academic achievement, that compares schools throughout the state. The hard work of our students and staff in BUSD is paying off in increased student achievement for all students.Benicia Unified School Districts API ranking rose from 827 in 2009 to 842 in 2010. A more detailed look at each schools scores may be found on the California Department of Education website under 2010 API Results.State Superintendent Jack O’Connell states that "How a school is faring in comparison to all schools in the state or to those similar in nature is of vital importance to parents, teachers, education advocates, and the business community who are all interested in student performance. This information gives the public additional knowledge about how their schools compare to other schools in their region and statewide. "
