Benicia Unified School District

Each fall the Solano County Office of Education sponsors a Teacher of the Year and a Classified Employee of the Year Recognition.   Each district chooses a District Teacher of the Year and a District Classified Employee and from this group the Solano County Teacher and Classified Employee of the Year is selected.  This process has traditionally taken place over the summer and the employees have been recognized when we return in the fall. This year the county has decided that this recognition should take place in the spring for the following school year. It is with great pleasure that BUSD announces that the 2011-12 BUSD Teacher of the Year is Carolyn Fields Hayes, and the 2011-12 BUSD Classified Employee of the Year is Kathleen Zeuli. Both Carolyn and Kathleen are extremely deserving of this honor. Carolyn has been an English Teacher at Benicia Middle School since 1999 and Kathleen has worked in the Human Resources Department at the District Office in the role of Senior Personnel Technician. Congratulations to both employees!
