The deadline for BUSD 7th-12th graders to submit proof of a Tdap booster is Monday, September 19th.

·         Under AB 354, to attend school students are required by law to meet the new immunization requirement by documentation of their pertussis booster (Tdap) or valid exemption.

·         Many California schools will be audited by public health about their Tdap requirement activities in 2012. 

·         Immunization with Tdap will protect your students from pertussis (whooping cough), which can last for weeks-months of lost class time and ADA reimbursement.

·         Many children have received their Tdap and only need to bring their documentation to school.

·         Students who have not submitted proof of the immunization will be excluded, beginning  Monday, September 19, 2011.

·            Pupils can often be immunized on the same or next day if excluded from school –  the typical exclusion period will be brief.
