Benicia Middle School is the only middle school within Benicia Unified School District. The students come from four area elementary schools. As of October 2008, the student population of BMS is 1187. Benicia Middle School is a place where students can obtain an excellent education, develop meaningful relationships, participate in many new experiences, and express their talents. Benicia Middle is a large, suburban middle school with high expectations for all students. Our entire staff is dedicated to providing an educational environment that promotes and reinforces a safe and orderly campus so that each student can attain his or her potential. Benicia Middle School has a diverse student body. According to our 2005 CBEDS, the ethnic makeup of Benicia Middle School is: 63% Caucasian, 15% Asian/Filipino/Pacific Islander, 10% African American, 12% Hispanic/Latino, and 1% American Indian/Alaskan Native. As of February 2005, Benicia Middle School has 46 special day students, and 12 English Language Learners.
As of February 2008, Benicia Middle School staff is comprised of 95 staff members: 3 administrators, 1 counselor, 59 certificated teachers and 32 classified employees. In addition, the Benicia Middle School has many parent and community volunteers that actively participate in all school activities.
