AUCTION
RULES
You will
receive your bidding number as you check in.
There are
bid sheets that correspond to each item in the Silent Auction. To place
a bid, write your bidder number next to a preprinted amount space that
is provided.
Minimum
bid increments are specified on the bid sheets. If the minimum bid or
bid increments are not observed, your bid shall be void.
Your bid
number or signature on a bid sheet constitutes a legal contract to buy.
The Auction
Chairpersons and Auctioneer shall have final discretion to determine
winning bids in the Silent Auction.
The "Guaranteed
Purchase" allows you to purchase a specific Silent Auction item
without anyone bidding against you. You can enter your bidder number
in that box and the item is yours! The bidding stops!
The Live
Auction will begin approximately at 8 p.m., and continue without interruptions
until all items have been auctioned. The bidding order of the Live Auction
items is subject to change after publication of the program.
To enter
a bid in the Live Auction, raise your paddle
to signal the Auctioneer.
If the Auctioneer
determines that any winning bid is not commensurate with the value of
the article offered, he may reject same and withdraw the article for
sale.
Unless otherwise
indicated, all Auction items and services must be used by December 31,
2012. It is strongly recommended that you contact donors of services
as soon as possible to make arrangements for use of donation.
The Matthew
Turner Elementary School PTA has attempted in good faith to accurately
describe all items and their values. Everything is sold "as is."
The Auction Committee and Matthew Turner PTA shall in no event be responsible
for any item.
ALL SALES
ARE FINAL. Auction items have been donated by friends of the school
and may not be exchanged or refunded for cash.
All items
must be paid in full and collected at the end of the Auction.
In determining
the tax deductibility of items purchased at the Auction, Revenue Ruling
# 67-246 issued August 4, 1988, reminds bidders that no deduction is
allowable except to the extent the fair market value at retail of the
item or service received. Matthew Turner PTA reprints this information
here to exercise its responsibility to fully inform its supporters of
the applicable tax law.
Thank you for your support.
